What does membership in OAHI mean?
The OAHI is a self regulating body, similar to the professional Engineers of Ontario. This includes promotion, education, standards of practice, and disciplinary action. The OAHI is the only home inspector body that is governed by an act of Parliment.
What does this mean for clients? You know when you see the logo below that you are hiring a member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors who has met all educational and experience requirements to practice as a home inspector.
The educational requirements include a background in a technical industry like engineering, and 7 college level courses or more depending on the level of technical background. No other home inspection organization has as much requirement for education and training.
